According to the sources, these funds will be used in the construction of drainage, seepage tanks, footpaths, flyovers and underpasses across the city. The civic body is currently working on the plan for the complete work. Just a few weeks earlier, the Karnataka CM has also announced Rs 2,500-crore fund disbursement to Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), Bangalore Development Authority (BDA), Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB), and the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) to carry out infrastructure project at various levels.
The work on the above-released fund is expected to start by December 2019. The civic body will develop around 40 lakes, a 100-km stretch of roadways within the corporation’s limits and in village areas, footpaths, alternate connectivity to ITPL, multi-story parking in Gandhi Bazaar etc.
Besides the above, work on highways, elevated corridors and ring roads are still underway by the development authority.
