Kedarnath Dham’s door opened for pilgrims on 9th May amid fanfare

More than five thousand pilgrims visited historic Kedarnath Temple after opening of its door today

The doors of historic shrine of the country situated at Garhwal Uttarakhand Lord Kedarnath Temple has been opened for devotees on 9th May today amid much fanfare and chanting of spritual mantras with the Temple fully covered with orange coloured flowers.

About five thousand devotes from Uttarakhand and other parts of the country converged at the historic temple to have Kedar Baba’s darshan in order to pay their obeisance.

The doors of Kedarnath Dham, one the the four prominent pilgrimages of the country Kedarnath Temple were opened at 5.35 AM. The process however had started from four am onwards.

After the proper rituals the chairman of the Badrinath Kedarnath Mandir Samithi Trust Ashok Khatri, Chief Executive officer BD Singh, Executive officer Jamlokhi etc entered the Temple to have Lord Kedar’s darshan followed by other devotees in a systematic manner.

The entire environment was rented with Har Har Mahadev n Bhole baba ki jai slogans. The band of Jammu Kashmir light infantary played the mesmerising tunes creating a jubilant atmosphere around. It may be recalled that the Panchmukhi doli as usual reached Kedarnath Dham from Gauri Kund on 8th evening.

The doors of famour Badrinath Dham the Temple of Lord Vishnu would be opened for the devotees on 10th May. The 1200 years old entire Badrinath Temple is being decorated with multi coloured flowers to give it a mesmerising and devotional look.

Millions of devotees from all over the country an the world visit the Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri n Yamnotri Dhams every year during the summers and this trend is being continued since ages.

It may be recalled that in 2013, 15th, 16th June due to the over filling n finally bursting of the Gandhi Sarovar due to the excessive cloud bursts hundreds of thousands of tons of flooded water with silt and boulders came with high velocity tides towards the Kedarnath vicinity damaging properties and claiming lives in thousands especially at Rambara and further ahead till Srinagar Garhwal. According to the government’s statisticmore than five thousand children, women,men had died in this deadliest disaster. The state suffered a collosal loss of thousands of crores of rupees.

After the deadly devastation the then governments started the reconstruction n rehabilitation work in and around Kedarnath Dham that took several months,even years. Even the prime minister Narendra Modi visited the Shrine thrice with the present n past presidents.

Mr. Narendra Modi and former Uttarakhand CM’s Vijay Bahuguna n Harish Rawat took personel interest in the reconstruction work in Kedarnath to give it the new and latest face lift with modern constructions of Dharamshalas for pilgrims and other avenues. The role of the Nehru Youth Foundation under Colonel Kothial was also heart warming and highly laudable.

Today, after the personal intervention of prime minister Narendra Modi and former governments Kedarnath Dham is fully developed extremely equipped with all facilities and safegards in view of any misadventure natural or man made.

Hundreds of thousands of Rupees have been spent since 2013 on the reconstruction n rehabiitation exercises but there are still alleged complaints of several inadequacies and corruption in the execution of the these innovative n reconstruction exercises.
