Kesari’ Box Office Collection: Akshay Kumar-Parineeti Chopra film sees huge dip on Monday, mints merely Rs. 8.25 crore
After making a splash at the Box Office on opening day and opening (extended) weekend, Akshay Kumar-Parineeti Chopra starrerKesari sees a huge dip on Monday. The movie, which gathered Rs. 21.51 crore on Sunday, barely managed to mint Rs. 8.25 crore on Monday.
The movie has been affected severly due to the ongoing IPL season. While the numbers did drop in Mumbai much prior, the movie holds strong in North India and Rajasthan and Bihar, if a report on Box Office India is anything to go by. Akshay Kumar starrer Kesari needs stronger numbers over the coming weekdays in order to sustain at the Box Office.
The IPL effect was felt after the film’s weekend collections itself. “Section of the industry feels #IPL2019 curtailed the growth of #Kesari on Sat [evening] and Sun… Two days that could’ve made a biggg difference to the *extended* weekend total… Weekdays pivotal… Strong numbers and solid trending [Mon-Thu] are a must,” trade analyst Taran Adarsh had tweeted.
Revealing the current collections, Taran wrote, “#Kesari should’ve collected in double digits on Mon… North circuits dominate, driving its biz… Faces more-than-required decline in some circuits… Tue-Thu crucial… Thu 21.06 cr, Fri 16.75 cr, Sat 18.75 cr, Sun 21.51 cr, Mon 8.25 cr. Total: 86.32 cr. India biz.”
