Krishi Karman award bestowed on Uttarakhand agricultural minister Subodh Uniyal

The prestigious Krishi Karman Award has been bestowed on Uttarakhand’s agriculture minister Subodh Uniyal in a function at Bengaluru today.

Carrying behind the sound academic background as an electronics engineer from the University of Allahabad, Subodh Uniyal is the dynamic and dashing Minister of Agriculture in the Govt. of Uttarakhand today. The state’s Agricultural Secretary IAS Meenakshisundaram was also on the dais along with the Uttrakhand and Karnataka CM when the award was presented to him.

He and the Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Singh Rawat have today been honored with the best Krishi Karman award as the agricultural minister and chief minister amongst the other states of the country. Uttarakhand Agricultural Minister Subodh bagged this award for his outstanding contribution in benefiting the farmers, agricultural workers by way of ensuring the best governmental coordination with the farm community of the state enhancing agricultural production and also benefiting the farming community economically.

His dexterity to bring the agricultural department, it’s officials and networking closer to the farmers to derive maximum agricultural output keeping in mind the welfare and well being of the farming community has also been recognized by the Indian govt and hence this outstanding felicitation at the hands of the prime minister Narendra Modi in the presence of the Karnataka and Uttarakhand Chief minister B. S. Yeddyurappa and Trivendra Singh Rawat.

Keeping aside politics and ideology I appreciate Subodh Uniyal because he has carved a niche for himself in Uttarakhand’s politics reaching the top by the dint of his hard work, determination, dedication, and perseverance.

Being active in the youth and students politics of Allahabad Subodh and me both were the active office bearers of Youth For Democracy under the national leadership of the political stalwart late H N Bahuguna. I was then (during the eighties) the Delhi state Youth for Democracy president and Subodh was the national general secretary with Z. K. Faizan our national president.

On the advice of late Bahugunaji, he shifted to Garhwal in Tehri district and worked hard amongst people. Got elected MLA and then advisor to the former CM Vijay Bahuguna. He changed loyalty to BJP later on due to various compelling political circumstances.

Today he is a cabinet minister of Agriculture in Uttarakhand government and performing extraordinarily well. My heartiest good luck and wishes to him for his future success and progress in all the future endeavors. Even today when we meet we behave and treat each other like old friends with no protocol or formalities in between. Friends are friends after all.
