Lance Naik Sandeep Thapa martyred at LOC in Kashmir
Sandeep Thapa was today martyred at the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir.
He was a young and valiant soldier, a Lance Naik of Indian Army. He belonged to Sahaspur, Dehradun.
This was in the cross border exchange of fire after the breach of ceasefire by Pakistan. He was martyred in the Naushera sector of Rajouri in Jammu and Kashmir. This has happened after the scrapping up of the articles 370 and 35 A in Jammu and Kashmir.
After Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh were granted a separate union territory status, neighboring Pakistan and its government led by Imran Khan and Pak Army are in immense frustration. Pakistan has accumulated forces at the Indo Pak border and has increased arbitrary firings on the Indian side. This is being bravely countered and repelled by Indian Army at the LOC. In fact, the law and order situation in strife-torn Kashmir has considerably improved after the positioning of more than 30 thousand Indian Army and CRPF troopers at the LOC and various strife-torn locations in the Kashmir valley.
The incidents of terrorist attacks on domestic as well as on the cross border infiltration fronts have also incredibly improved. The strictness on the part of the union government and the state administration now under governor’s rule commanding the army and the paramilitary forces and jawans to deal with terrorism from this side of the border or any misadventure from Pakistan has yielded good results. The situation in strife-torn Kashmir is gradually returning to normalcy as curfew in several parts of Kashmir has been withdrawn. Therefore with no option left and completely frustrated Pakistan is engaged in the ceasefire violation. There have been about 1900 ceasefire violations till now.
The India forces and jawans are countering the Paki onslaughts with full might. A month ago 5 BAT commandoes of Pakistan who tried to cross the LOC were killed by the Indian Army and their bodies were handed over to Pakistan. Meanwhile, the chief minister of Uttarakhand Trivendra Singh Rawat while expressing his immense grief over the martyrdom of the young Lance Naik of Indian Army today assured of all possible governmental support and financial assistance to the bereaved family. Uttarakhand chief minister tweeted: Uttarakhand’s saput (valiant son of Uttarakhand) Sandeep Thapa has sacrificed himself in the cross border firing by Pakistan at the Indo-Pak border. I, again and again, bow down in reverence to this great martyr Lance Naik Thapa. While praying for the condolence to the bereaved family we assure of always standing in support of the Martyred family.
