The Bhartiya Janata Party’s muscleman lawmaker from Khanpur, Haridwar and the landlord of Landaur region in Uttarakhand, infamous for brandishing pistols and guns in videos while dancing and drinking that ultimately went viral in the social media bringing disrepute to the saffron party is so powerful indeed being a wrestler, muscleman and rich MLA wielding tremendous clout, personal and political, that despite so much of political and social pressure in media by the opposition leaders and even his party’s MPs’ and MLAs, the state and the central high command did not have guts to expel him from the party permanently but only for three months to cover up the controversy.
This unambiguously indicates that a powerful and muscle yielding lawmaker is above the party discipline and ethics.
The Khanpur MLA Kunwar Pranav Singh Champion whose viral video allegedly using derogatory and unethical remarks against Uttarakhand and its people had led to creating a nationwide controversy has been expelled earlier for merely three months and debarred for taking part in party meetings and activities but after the latest incident except issuing him a show cause notice no action has been taken against him.
Meanwhile, according to the latest news flash and a tweet of ANI, the district magistrate of Haridwar has revoked the licenses of three weapons of Khanpur MLA Kunwar Pranav Singh Champion which had been brandished by him in the video while dancing and drinking, the videos of which went viral.
According to the ANI tweet: Licences of the three weapons of the suspended BJP MLA Kunwar Pranav Singh Champion have been revoked. He had been issued the notice by the district magistrate of Haridwar Dipendra Choudhary.
Champion was earlier seen in a viral video brandishing guns. Champion’s one earlier video was later released which became viral relating to his enjoying a dance of a girl while sitting in his office with friends on a Bollywood number.
The Congress party, Uttarakhand Kranti Dal and even the BJP MPs have condemned this act of Pranav Champion calling for immediate action against him.
The BJP Rajya Sabha MP Anil Baluni had assured of strict disciplinary as well as legal action against Champion for abusing Uttarakhand and brandishing pistols publicly in the video.
The Uttarakhand state BJP president and MP Ajay Bhatt too tweeted twice: The party had earlier expelled Pranav Champion, MLA for three months from the party for acts of indiscipline and had been barred to participate in BJP’s official meetings.
The second tweet mentions: The MLA Pranav Champion had used the unethical and ugly language against Uttarakhand as per the video going viral. This is highly condemnable. I am myself shamed by this immoral act and regret the same.
It may be recalled that Pranav Champion was earlier expelled for three months on the charge of misbehaving and threatening an electronic channel journalist a few months ago in Delhi’s Uttarakhand Sadan.
