MHADA Plans To Develop Luxury Residential Units At Bandra-Kurla Complex
One of the most well known commercial hubs of Mumbai, Bandra-Kurla Complex, which also houses renowned global MNCs and Banks, is all set to launch premium residential units, as planned by Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA). These housing units will be developed by leading city developers and realtors with a carpet area of almost 1300 sq.ft.
Giving more details about the units, Bhushan Desai, Executive Engineer Residential, Mumbai Board, mentioned that these units will not be ultra-modern homes, but they will be luxury premium units with all the modern facilities and conveniences, which are searched by High-income group buyers.
These residential units will be furnished with all the premium facilities like swimming pool, clubhouse, and gymnasium, etc. However, the price range is still not revealed by the Authority, but it is believed that the estimated values of these flats will be not below than Rs 4 crores.
As per a senior official of MHADA, the authority was planning to develop these homes from many years, but the plan got wings in last 15 days only.
Madhu Chavan, Chairman of Mumbai Housing Board, mentioned that they have decided to make this project as a revenue-earning project where the extra-earned money will be utilized in subsidising other important projects particularly designated for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other income groups. Other than this, the authority is also planning to develop transit camps with low rentals.
BKC, which developed in 1977, is spread across 370 hectares of land including private and government offices (both state and central), national/ international banks, wholesale institutions, etc.
