Millions of smartphones users will not be able to WhatsApp after year end
It is time to check whether you would be able to use the WhatsApp messenger in your phone in 2017 or not because it is expected that the WhatsApp will stop working on millions of smartphones in January 2017 unless they are upgraded.
WhatsApp has more than one million monthly users and there would be millions of smartphones which would no longer be able to use this popular messenger because of old technology and needs a technology upgrade.
According to a WhatsApp spokesperson they feel that they want to implement some upgrades in the messenger and this will not be possible in the old phones because they do not offer app’s features in the future.
They have made a 7 years plan and in next seven years, they want to focus on efforts on the mobile platforms the vast majority of people use. There would several old services which would be put to end and customers will not be able to use them.
For iPhone users, WhatsApp will not work on any 3GS iPhones and will also not work on iOS 6 devices.
So the iPad users of 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation devices need to be upgraded to iOS 9.3 if they want to use the service. Also tablets and phones running on Android 2.1 or 2.2 operating system will also not be able to use WhatsApp after year end.
Even support for Windows 7 running devices will also be stopped and would be working on the upgraded versions only so it is the best time to upgrade all the devices if you want to use the famous and very much needed WhatsApp service.
WhatsApp has extended its services by giving support to Blackberry OS, Blackberry 10, Nokia S40 and Nokia Symbian S60 until 30th June in 2017.
