Interview
Modi with Bear Grylls in Man Vs Wild on Discovery Channel
Today is the world premiere of the popular Man Vs Wild programme in Discovery channel at 9.00 PM with its globally popular host Bear Grylls and prime minister Narendra Modi.
They are to appear on television sets of 180 countries of the world in a documentary on wildlife encounter in Jim Corbet National Park’s dense jungles and river valley. They are gossiping, having an encounter with wildlife, drinking tea inside the jungles, sitting beside the riverbank and also travelling in a hand made canopy boat along with Bear Grylls against the high-velocity river tides.
The newspapers of the country are full of full-page expensive advertisements from Discovery channel titled Discovery channel’s UNMISSABLE ADVENTURE IN THE LAP OF NATURE AT 9.00 PM TONIGHT/World Premier with prime minister Narendra Modi and Bear Grylls. They are seen in hunting attire talking to each other on the river bank holding a tea Thermax together. This episode to be telecast today in over 180 countries of the world is being chiefly co-sponsored by Indian Oil and Havel.
This is significant and unique because it’s for the very first time that any Indian prime minister would be participating in a documentary of Discovery channel with shooting done at Jim Corbet National Park in Uttarakhand. The shooting of this episode was executed on the day of the Pulwama tragedy in Kashmir, the most ill-fated day which claimed the toll of more than forty troopers of Indian Army. The opposition leaders had created controversies and had blamed the prime minister Narendra Modi for being busy in shooting when our jawans died in the fidayeen attack in Pulwama Kashmir. The charge strongly opposed by the ruling BJP as false and concocted.
According to sources the prime minister was deeply concerned and was in regular contact of the authorities concerned to guide them of the possible action. The shooting took place in the morning and was called off as soon as the information was received about the tragedy. In the promos and advertisement released prior to the telecast, the prime minister was seen in his hunting jacket greeting the Man Vs Wild host Bob Grylls. The PM had said ‘Welcome to India’ and was then walking in the green dense jungles of Jim Corbet Wildlife park, sailing on a canopy boat and also interacting with Grylls on Wildlife conservation etc.
In the past United States’ President Barak Obama and several other prime ministers of different countries had appeared in Bear Grylls wildlife episodes. However, Narendra Modi would be the first and only Indian PM to appear in this programme of Discovery Channel.
So stay tuned at 9.00 PM on Discovery Channel to watch Modi in Man Vs Wild doing several feats as a commoner in his hunting attire.
