Nayanthara boards yet another women-centric project to be directed by Velmathi
Lady Superstar Nayanthara, who has been part of highly successful women-centric films such as Aramm, Maya, and Kolamaavu Kokila to name a few, has signed another heroine-led film. This yet untitled project will be directed by C. Velmathi, who is awaiting the release of his long-pending village drama Andaava Kaanom which stars Sriya Reddy in the lead role.
The film has been in the post-production for a long time, and Sathish Kumar of JSK Film Corporation is planning to release it sometime this year. Meanwhile, Velmathi prepared the script for Nayanthara and has already received her nod for the project, which is said to be produced by Kumar, the manager of Kannada Superstar Puneeth Rajkumar.
In 2018 Nayanthara tasted phenomenal box-office success with her films Kolamaavu Kokila, and Imaikkaa Nodigal comfortably crossing the Rs 30 crore mark in Tamil Nadu alone. She opened the account in 2019 with the all-time blockbuster Viswasam, where she co-starred with Thala Ajith in the role of Niranjana. She has currently wrapped up the shooting of her Malayalam romance drama com Love Action Drama where she is teaming up with Nivin Pauly for the first time.
Nayanthara will start shooting for Velmathi’s untitled film after she completes the pending portions of Telugu magnum-opus Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy and also the much-anticipated big-budget flick in Thalapathy 63, which is currently progressing in Chennai. Sources say Nayanthara will start filming for Velmathi’s film from April. Her next release would be Sivakarthikeyan’s Mr Local, which is set to hit screens on May 1st.
