New Dhari Devi Temple near Srinagar Garhwal almost complete. Cost incurred 20 to 25 crores.

An ancient temple known as ,”Dhari Devi,” just opposite the Dhari Gaon at KALYASAUD, half an hour distance away on vehicle from Srinagar city in Garhwal Uttarakhand which was almost submerged in the high velocity tides during the ecological desaster of June 15/ 16 in the year 2013 that claimed thousands of human lives and witnessed collosal loss of properties is today a new fascinating temple having build more than 625 metres above the main sea level likely to be the fifth most adorable Dham in Uttarakhand in the months to come in addition to Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath.

The new magnificient project of Dhari Devi Temple with the entire exterior colored in golden, had been constructed by the GVK company that built a 330 megawatt Dam near Srinagar Garhwal resulting in shifting of the original temple and the diety Godess Dhari Devi’s orginal statue as the area has now been completely sumerged in the dam ‘s accumulated water.

Due to various ups and downs n confrontation with the villagers n management of Dhari Devi temple regarding payment of financial compensation etc, the temple built on magnificient KATHYURI VANSH Shailly ( Kathyuri ancient architecture) has collourful ( Golden) canopies on the top with beautifully designs n golden exterior giving it a fascinating look.

One would be shocked to learn that the total expenditure on the entire temple construction including its beautification and beam plus pillar arrangements from the main sea level comes to Rs 20 to 25 crores.

According to Satyajeet Khanduri a resident of Srinagar Garhwal who being in the GVK company was associated with the Temple construction project since day one about nine years ago , feels himself highly privileged by Godess Dhari’s blessings to have been able to finally complete it.

The new Dhari Devi Temple is almost complete with its finally touches under execution. Khanduri wishes that Godess Dhari will soon acquire her pious place in the new temple.

He is highly optimistic that this outstanding architecture will place this already popular “Sidhpeeth”, amongst the well known temples of the country especially granting it the status of THE 5TH DHAM IN ADDITION TO THE EXISTING CHAAR DHAM historic temples of Uttarakhand.

It may be recalled that extremely popular temple Dhari Devi is situated at Kalyasaur just twenty kilometres away from Srinagar Garhwal on the way to Kedarnath, Badrinath Dhams.

It’s understood that it was established during the Dwapar Yug. However, different people have different versions. There is also a saying that several centuries ago a statue of the Diety came in the running waters from the Tibet side n somebody near DHARI GAON eastablished it in a place near the river which lateron took the shape of a temple.

Hundreds of thousands of pilgrims n devotees visit the place every year to pay their obiesance to this Godess DHARI DEVI n seek her pious n miraculous blessings.
