Parineeti Chopra congratulates Akshay Kumar for Kesari’s success

Parineeti Chopra is ecstatic that Kesari, which stars Akshay Kumar, has raced past the Rs 100-crore mark within a week. “Akshay sir is the most grounded superstar. He is responsible and committed about his work on set, and as playful and fun-loving off the set. The whole team put in so much into the movie, that’s why this Rs 100 crore is added to the Rs 500-crore compliments and love from the fans! Akshay sir is one of my favourite co-stars. He is so unassuming and humble.” Pari played a small yet significant role in the film and chose the project because of its script. Like Kesari, Parineeti’s forthcoming projects, too, are content-based like the Saina Nehwal biopic in which she plays the ace badminton player and Bhuj: The Pride of Indiathat is based on the real-life daredevilry of an Indian Air Force Officer.

“Even though Kesari is largely based on Akshay sir’s character and the battle (of Saragarhi), he would always tell me, ‘Tu dekhna kitni tareef hogi teri.’ I used to feel he is being generous, but it was absolutely true! I’m so happy I did this film. It started out as a small, guest appearance that I was doing for fun, but has turned into a project that has taught me so much about the kind of actor I want to be,” Pari signs off.
