The prime minister Narendra Modi, today, after paying his obiesance to Lord Kedar inside the ancient Kedarnath Shrine n performing Rudra Abhishekha, personally visited the surrounding vicinity while on way to the cave, where he is meditating today, and deliberated with the senior officials about the progress of the work executed and likely to be done in the near future.

Dressed in a long grey Kurta and a traditional warm Himachali cap , his entire entourage comprising of the officers of special protection group holding umbrellas walked a distance of less than half a kilometre finally converging at the cave.

On the way prime minister Modi inspected the files related to various ongoing developmental projects and directed the senior PWD officials as well as officials of other related departments to expedite the remaining job.

There is not an inkling of doubt that if the prime minister is taking personal interest in the entire developmental works of Kedarnath Dham giving it a modern look with latest facilities for the temple priests n the pilgrims thronging this ancient shrine, there is every reason to believe that not only would the development n renovation work be of top quality but the time consumed would also be quite less n reasonable.

This is the fourth visit of prime minister Narendra Modi at Kedarnath Shrine before n after becoming country’s prime minister.

The top officials of various departments connected with the re- construction work of Kedarnath vicinity were present there who exchanged information of the job executed with prime minister.

It has been learnt that the total projects of Kedarnath n its surroundings upgradation n modernisation comprises of Rs. 700 crores.

After the deadly ecological disaster of June 2013, the then chief ministers of Uttarakhand Vijay Bahuguna and Harish Rawat had also taken great pains to resurrect the devastated Kedarnath dham but after the prime minister Narendra Modi’s personal intervention n enhancement in budget the work of renovation n reconstruction got more impetus n thrust.
