PM Modi meets and congratulates Murli Manohar Joshi on his 86th birthday
The Raisina Road near Press Club of India was completely blocked for the vehicles and passers-by from 11.30 pm to 1.00 pm with the area completely cordoned off by the high-level security as the prime minister Narendra Modi surprisingly visited 6 Raisina Road, the residence of Padmavibhushan and former union HRD minister and BJP Marg Darshak Mandal member Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi’s bungalow to congratulate him on his 86th Birthday.
A birthday celebration event by Parvatiya Lok Vikas Sammittee and Dr. M. M. Joshi Birthday Celebration Committee was already scheduled for 11.00 am at 6 Raisina Road to felicitate the octogenarian saffron party leader n former HRD minister Dr. Joshi but due to the sudden program of prime minister Narendra Modi, the entire Raisina Road area was cordoned off and high-level security stationed since morning prohibiting the passage of vehicles and the passers-by.
After prime minister Narendra Modi’s arrival no one was allowed to enter the premises due to security reasons who had come to attend the function at Dr. Joshi’s house. They had to wait for an hour and a half to seek entry at 6 Raisina Road at 1.30 pm after the prime minister’s entourage left Dr. Joshi’s house. Prime minister Narendra Modi visited Dr. Joshi’s place at 12.00 noon and stayed there for more than an hour discussing various important issues after formally greeting him. He waved to his supporters hailing him while leaving Dr. Joshi’s premises.
He left at 1.25 noon amidst chanting of hail Modi slogans by some party workers presented inside the bungalow from a distance under high profile security cordon.
Dr. Joshi arrived at the lawn acknowledging the greetings and bouquets of his supporters at 1.30 after the PM left. His fans and followers across party and ideological lines met him and presented bouquets, garlands, momentoes, and shawls.
Dr. Joshi expressed his gratitude towards one and all present on his 86th Birthday. It may be recalled that there were alleged fissures in the relations between these two leaders earlier but slowly and gradually the political differences have narrowed down and today’s visit by the Prime minister staying with the veteran leader for more than an hour has further cemented better relationship between the PM Narendra Modi and Dr. M. M Joshi. Octogenarian Dr. Joshi is leading sort of a retired political life having not been accommodated in any gubernatorial position either.
