In a bid to entice electorares of eastern Uttar Pradesh n to identify herself and the Congress party towards soft Hinduism in order to effectively counter the BJP n its jingoistic offshoots spreading hinduism in order to capitalise on majority community votes, the Nehru Gandhi family daughter and the newly appointed general secretary, incharge of Eastern UP affairs of Congress Priyanka Gandhi is embarking on her three days whirlwind tour via the Ganges from Allahabad Prayagraj to the city od Lord Shiva and the Lok Sabha constituency of prime minister Narendra Modi from March 18th for three days in succession. According to the latest reports Priyanka Gandhi will reach Allahabad on 17th evening and halt for a night at Anand Bhawan the historic residence of her great great grand father late Moti Lal Nehru, Jawahar Lal Nehru n grand mother Indira Gandhi, both former prime ministers and embark on her three day sea mobilisation journey from Prayagraj after payining obiesance to Mother Ganges.

The entire entourage will consist of her security personel, the general secretary n incharge of western UP Jyotiraditya Scindia, the Uttar Pradesh Congress chief n MP Rajya Sabha from Uttarakhand Raj Babber n some important leaders. After embarking on the three days mobilisation campaign yermed as the Sadhbhaavna Yatra to establish one to one connect with the people along the 340 kilometres route Priyanka Gandhi who will go by motor boat/ steamer will visit five six important temples on the way, seek blessings from Gods n Godesses by conducting rituals and also stay on the way, meeting people and interacting with them exposing the BJP government’s policies n propagating the Congress’s programmes n commitments for their all round development n well being.

This is a Sadhbhawma Yatra says Party’s MP n leader, veteran journalist Rajiv Shukla to counter the forces of communalism n fundamentalism who are exploiting the electorates by raising various relion oriented issues to beget votes in the election.

Priyanka Gandhi will also address people on the way in areas connected to the river banks and seek their support for Congress. She will also expose the alleged failures of the BJP led NDA government in the saffron party’s over ambitious clean Ganga project called Namame Gange with a massive budget of 20 thousand crores reveal sources.

It may be recalled that this is the first ever Ganga Yatra being carried out by any leader of a political party covering 340 kilometres on motor boat. Political analysts say that it’s the Congress party’s new attempt to encourage soft Hinduism on the pattern of her brother and Congress chief Rahul Gandhi’s Temple visiting spree in Gujarat last year and other historic temples of the country like Tirupati in the South etc to appease the hindu voters as well who are considered to be the traditional BJP voters, especially in view of the Ram Temple issue of the saffron party gaining ground n momentum in Uttar Pradesh n the country.

After having been sidelined by the Bahujan Samaj Party, SP and RLD alliance in Uttar Pradesh, the largest state that gives 80 MPs’ to Lok Sabha, the Congress Party is finding it difficult to go alone. Therefore Priyanka’s enhanced campaign strategy like the Ganga Yatra are being organised to capitalise on the votes of the forward communities like Brahmins, Thakurs n those religiously tilted towards the BJP apart from the people of the lowest ebb of the society that also includes SCs, STs, backward community votes n those hailing from the economicall deprived sections of the society.

After being appointed as the party’s general secretary Priyanka Gandhi is leaving no stone unturned to revitalise n strengthen the Congress party and this can be gauged from the fact that not only had she proved highly successful in gathering thousands of people in her public meeting in the PM’s home turf Gujarat the other day but she also travelled 100 odd kilometres alongwith her entourage to meet the Dalit leader Chandra Shekhar Azad to Meerut hospital to know about her well being to throw an impression on BSP leader Mayawati as well as the Dalit voters of UP as to how seriously she is concerned for the opptessed people n community of the state and the country.

What will come out of her Ganga Yatra is anybody’s guess but she is fetociously n dedicatedly doing her best to prove her mettle in the general election to ensure that the sinking ship of Congress in UP gains momentum n comes out victorious with good number of parliament seats (outcome). What’s your take friends?
