Protest by opposition MPs on Unnao rape case
The horrifying Unnao rape case and the Sunday’s shocking head-on collision accident by a truck with a car carrying two aunts and a lawyer including the rape survivor have outraged not only the opposition lawmakers in parliament but also led people and MPs protest inside and outside parliament.
But unfortunately the protest by the Samajwadi Party and other party MPs in the parliament house vicinity outside the house with well designed placards in their hands wearing red dress with a red party cap seemed more like a stage-managed protest as the pictures taken by a senior photojournalist Praveen Jain immaculately show the actor turned MP of Samajwadi Party in a gossiping mood smiling/ laughing than being serious on such a tragic episode.
The Samajwadi party n opposition MPs of other political outfits today staged a symbolic protest outside the parliament house building demanding justice for the rape victim and stringent action against the lawmaker of the ruling party now in Sitapur Jail undergoing a trial.
Two aunts of the Unnao rape survivor who is herself grievously injured in this accident along with her lawyer were killed on Sunday by this head-on collision of the truck with their car coming from the wrong side with its number plate covered with grease which the owner said had been done to ditch the financiers of the truck.
The police and forensic experts are minutely investigating the case. However, a CBI inquiry has been demanded by the chief of the Samajwadi Party and its MPs in this mysterious mishappening.
Meanwhile the Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has also jumped into the bandwagon to gain political mileage and has tweeted for three times today questioning the prime minister as to why the criminal MLA and his erring brother has not been expelled from the party till yet and why is the criminal MLA Sengar being given political protection thus abandoning the family in distress etc.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra tweeted: Why do we give people like Kuldeep Sengar the strength and protection of political power and abandon their victims to battle for their lives alone?
The FIR clearly states that the family was threatened and apprehensive. It even mentions the possibility of a planned accident. In the second tweet, Mrs. Vadra writes: For God’s sake, Mr. Prime minister, divest this criminal and his brother of the political power, your party is giving to them.
The UP Police DG has however assured that no laxity would be adopted in the investigation and the culprits would be brought to book by all means.
The government of Uttar Pradesh is bearing all the medical expenses of the rape survivor and the lawyer grievously injured in this accident blamed by the rape survivor’s family as an alleged conspiratorial murderous attempt by the jailed MLA of Unnao.
Prahlad Joshi has requested the opposition not to politicize this unfortunate incident.
