Pujara says that Rajkot match is not heading towards draw and we will win
Cheteshwar Pujara feels that India can win if they bat well on day 4 in Rajkot it is far from being disheartened by the loss of wickets just before the close.
Pujara has played well and scored 124 runs in the match against England, he said that he started playing shorts with full confidence and expected them to be in a defensive mode but when they have already set the target of 537 runs then the simplest plan is to reach that mark. And obviously we have a bright chance to win the game if we bat well in tomorrow’s match.
He thinks that it will be quite difficult to bat tomorrow because balling is going to be tougher on day five. At this time he do not want to say much, who himself along with Murali Vijay were dismissed in the final session.
This time Pujara is very optimistic about his knowledge of the SCA stadium track where he had already achieved century.
He further said “We are still in a good position once we bat well tomorrow and get a lead of 60-70 runs which will help us in the second innings. It’s a good wicket to bat on. I saw some spin, saw a couple of balls turn and bounce. We expect it to be more as match progresses, but our first focus will be to bat well tomorrow. And possibly press for win the day after.”
India lost Amit Mishra in the final over with score of 319 and it is still 218 runs behind England. Pujara added his 219 runs for the second wicket along with vijay who made 126 runs.
The chemistry between two of them was good and when asked about it he said that with him has forged triple digit stands with record of 370 runs against Australia at Hyderabad about 3 years back and they communicate well with each other on and off the field. They have spent a lot of time together and sometimes it was difficult for players playing only this particular format which they were following.
Pujara further said that he also felt nervous before the game in spite of making hundreds in Rajkot for domestic matches and this time he has made triple hundred in one of these first class games which means a lot to him.
