As the date for the polling in the five states is nearing and so is the time of the national elections nearing though its still nine months to come, the Congress party and its most vocal chief Rahul Gandhi is lucky that he’s getting newer issues coming to the fore to crticize the BJP led government at the centre with more enthusiasm, vigour and vitality.

While the few issues of his campaigning viz Rafale jet fighter deal, banking frauds, unemployment crisis, demonetisation, farmers suicides, bank loan waivers of farmers and corruption are helping him a lot attracting the crowds in all his public meetings in various states particularly in Rajasthan, Chattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh where anti incumbency is also favoring the Congress party to some extent the two new episodes of the all of a sudden but pre strategic midnight unceremonious exit of the the former CBI chief arbitrarily sending him on a long leave without seeking the recommndation from the apex court’s selection committee and thereafter four IB officers’ unsuccesful snooping attempt outside the former Director’s house at 2 Janpath has give the Congress party and its chief Rahul Gandhi and other leaders an added ammunition to gun the government more vigorously than before.

The chief opposition leader of the Congress party in Parliament and the chief spokesperson Kharge and Randeep Singh Surjewala including senior advocate n Congress leader continued their salvos against prime minister Narendra Modi and his government terming the recent developments as symbolic of the national and constitutional peril.

While Rahul Gandhi blamed prime minister Modi for arbitrarily ousting former CBI director Alok Verma because he has shown courage to investigate the suspicious Rafale deal the spokesperson Randip Singh Surjewala has tweeted that the IB is also going the CBI way.

The veteran Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge while addressing a largely lunch on press conference at the AICC headquarter in New Delhi accused the BJP government at the centre of outrightly discarding all the constitutional norms by not following the norms of the supreme court appointed selection committe of which he is also a member and forcefully sending the two topmost CBI officers on leave especially the former CBI director Alok Verma.

He said that according to the norms of the selection committee headed by the apex court’s chief justice no new director of CBI can be appointed or promoted without the consent of this committee but in the case of the arbitrary exit of Alok Verma as the CBI director n promotion of the current senior most joint Director M. Nageshwar Rao as interim chief of the country’s premier investigating agency all the norms and regulations were thrown to the winds which definitely cast doubts in the honesty, transparency and integrity of the present system obviously refering to the prime minister.

He added that the DOPT which controls the CBI in under the Prime minister’s office and hence the entite exercise cast doubts on the manipulations of the ruling political dispensation which has tarnished the reputation and the image of this premier investigating agency of the country.

Just a day ago on Wednesday the BJP dissidents and the former union ministers Yashwant Sinha and a veteran journalist too Arun Shourie with eminent RTI activist and senior supreme court advocate has filed a petition in the Apex court against the union government requesting the court for early hearing and registration of cases for the irregularities committed in the Rafale Jet fighter deal worth Rs. 59000 crores escalating the cost of jet fighters from Rs. 526 crores to 1700 crores for each aircraft numbering 36 instead of the previous 126 Rafale Jet fighters.

These leaders had also held two press conferences at the Press Club of India at Raisina Road, New Delhi twice and had also met the then CBI director with a written complaint allegedly castigating aspersions on the present government and its prime minister for favoring Anil Ambani’s company Reliance Defence to secure the offset deal at the cost of HAL and escalating the price of the Jet fighters three times more than the previous deal including lessening the number of Aircrafts from 126 to 36. What’s your take friends?
