In a major setback to Congress party at the nick of election time , one of its Secretaries namely Tom Vaddakan has joined the BJP bandwagon today.

Tom’s joining the BJP sounds highly irrational and surprising as he had been one of the strong protagonists of Congress party extremely close to Congress’s former chief and UPA Advisory Council’s chairperson Sonia Gandhi.

He had been the Incharge of Congress’s media management n News Watch for a long time having been associated with the Party for more than two decades.

However, after Rahul Gandhi’s taking over as the AICC president Tom Vaddakan had been sidelined gradually finally compelling him to join his one time diametrically opposite party BJP against who he had been speaking strongly n furiously all these years by branding it as the communal n reactionery party allegedly spreading hatred in the country.

Today Tom Vaddakam was hugely critical of Congress n Rahul Gandhi and had all praise for Prime minister Narendra Modi n the saffron party while being welcomed into the party’s fold by the union law minister n party’s important pillar Ravi Shankar Prasad.

Tom’s reasoning for joining the BJP was the Congress party and its leaders’ questioning the credibity and integrity of the Armed forces especially against the Air Strikes in Balakot post Pulwama fidayeen attack thus hurting him badly.

According to the defected Congress leader n a staunch Sonia loyalist Vadakkan said : he was deeply hurt n concerned on seeing the disgusting n shameful attitude of the Congress party leaders against the Indian Armed forces questioning their integrity and attack of Pakistan on Indian territory. Hence he had no alternative but to join the BJP.

Blaming the Congress party and its leaders of promoting n propagating dynastic politics Tom Vadakkan said that Rahul Gandhi has no respect for the old time dedicated workers, believing in, throwing them after use.

Dynastic politics has reached its zenith in Congress said Tom, accusing Rahul Gandhi of not recognising the services of the dedicated party workers who’d devoted their lives in party.

Citing his own case Vadakkan said that he had given the party more than 20 years of dedicated services but the leadership resorted to use n throw him out.

He lauded prime minister Narendra Modi’s every development initiative and said that he strongly believed in his developmental narratives.

Former Congress secretary Tom Vadakkan originally hails from Kerala where the saffron party is trying to make inroads on Sabrimala issue by mobilising religious sentiments of Hindus and increasing attacks n murders of RSS workers.

Some Congressmen say that Tom Vadakkan was sidelined by the Congress high command due to his alleged unfair means n corrupt practices in the party misusing his official position.

They say he is a spineless leader having no following and credibility even within his own community. There feeling disgusted in the party he had no options but to join BJP. He was a non entity when he joined Congress but after gradually coming in close proximity to Sonia Gandhi his elevation started taking shape. His is a rags to riches story say these Congress leaders on the condition of anonymity
