The Accidental Prime Minister: Anupam Kher lands in legal trouble, case filed against him in Bihar court
Anupam Kher starrer The Accidental Prime Minister has been in news ever since its trailer released, for both right and wrong reasons, the latest being a case over the actor for hurting sentiments.
Lawyer Sudhir Kumar Ojha filed a case against both Anupam Kher and Akshaye Khanna who play the roles of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and his press advisor Sanjaya Baru.
The case has been filed in Bihar court, after Muzaffarpur’s Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court accepted the hearing of the case on January 8 in Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate court.
Ojha in his petition complained that not only Anupam Kher and Akshaye Khanna, but the movie also tarnishes images of some top people like UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Vadra.
For obvious reasons, the director of the film Vijay Gutte and producers Sunil Bohra and Dhaval Gada (from Pen Movies) have also been slapped with the case.
For the uninitiated, the trailer went missing from YouTube and Anupam Kher raised questions on the same.
Apart from Anupam Kher and Akshaye Khanna, the film also stars Arjun Mathur as Rahul Gandhi and Aahana Kumra as Priyanka Gandhi.
The other characters are – Ajit Satbhai as former PM PV Narsimha Rao, Ram Avatar Bhardawaj as Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Divya Seth Shah as Mrs. Gursharan Kaur aka Dr. Singh’s reel wife.
