THOUSANDS BID TEARFUL FAREWELL TO 24 YEAR OLD MATYR MANDEEP RAWAT WHO VALIANTLY FOUGHT TERRORISTS IN GUREZ SECTOR OF J&K

Hundreds of thousands of people in and around Kotdwar, in Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand accorded the final tearful farewell to the valiant patriotic soldier of Garhwal Rifles, 24 year old youthful Mandeep Singh Rawat who was martyred while bravely confronting the Pakistan sponsered terrorists in the Gurez sector of Jammu and Kashmir at the Line of Control two days ago in exchange of incessant fire for several hours in which five dreaded terrorists were also killed.

The entire Kotdwar township, the entry point to Pauri Garhwal Himalayas today got converted into a sea of tearful and anguished people in thousands raising ” Mandeep Rawat Amar Rahe,” and Pakistan Murdabad, ” slogans, when the young martyr’s body was being taken for consigning to flames in a well decorated Army truck full of flowers and garlends in honour of the valiant soldier who laid down his precious life for the nation. Late Mandeep Rawat was honoured with 21 gun salutes in the presence of eminent dignitories of the Uttarakhand government.

The youths, students, senior citizens, journalists and women in thousands who accompanied late Rawat’s body looked extremely furious, angry and enraged over the daily martydom of Indian soldiers and officers in the line of action in J& K while fighting and confronting terrorists and raised anti Pakistan slogans repeatedly.

Late Mandeep Singh Rawat who originally hailed from Tehri Garhwal lived and studied in Kotdwar Post Graduate College.

At the age of mere 24 this valiant soldier laid down his precious life for the nation fighting the terrorists with immense valour and dedication in Gurez sector two days ago.

In this very operation which killed five hard core terrorists in hours of exchange of fire one more young soldier of Garhwal Rifles Hamir Singh Pokhriyal of Lamgaon, Tehri Garhwal was martyred alongwith major Rane and a soldier of 38 Rashtriya Rifles.

The entire nation salutes these brave hearts and pledges to stand by them in this hour of crisis. Meanwhile, as per the latest news pouring in, the Indian Army troopers have today killed 5 more hard core terrorists who tried to sneak in the Baramulla sector after several hours of intermittent exchange of fire.
