Sanjeev Kapoor just had to be the name I start this article with. He is one of the most famous chefs our country has ever had. Most of us grew up watching his shows. He is an old household name, famous with everyone. He is a professional chef and his name is synonymous with Indian food. Sanjeev Kapoor started his journey with a hope of making Indian food a worldwide phenomenon and he succeeded. He as written several bestselling cookbooks, won many competitions, and works for the FoodFood tv channel. He also owns the franchise of WonderChef kitchen appliances. Sanjeev Kapoor was bestowed with the best chef of India award by the government.
Vikas Khanna
Vikas Khanna is also known as the humble chef in the Indian food scene. His calm nature and polite tone earned him this title. He has worked with culinary experts across the globe like Gordon Ramsey, Bobby Flay, and such. He has also proudly arranged a dinner for former US president Barack Obama. Moreover, he owns a restaurant in New York named Junoon. In 2011, he won the sexiest man alive by people’s magazine.
Ranveer Brar
I am biased towards him. He has been my culinary idol for a long time. Humble, relatable, and passionate about food, Ranveer Brar has become an up and coming name in the culinary heritage. He has also become a household name and everyone loves his shows. Ranveer become an official culinary expert at 25 years old, youngest to work with a 5-star! Achievement, indeed. He has had it rough but he made it and now he is the most sought after chef in the country. He has a plethora of shows such as the global menu, health bhi taste bhi, homemade, etc. Ranveer’s shows are riddled with his own experiences, knowledge, and history of food and tips and tricks that just make his shows more fun and relatable.
Madhur Jaffrey
She was born in Delhi however her cooking journey began in Britain at the Royal Academy of dramatic arts. Madhur Jaffrey is a famous author and food critique. She has won many awards and has curated many books. Her book, An Invitation to Indian Cooking, put her on the map of the culinary world. The book was also inducted into the James Beard Foundation’s Cookbook Hall of Fame in 2006. No wonder she is counted as one of the best chefs in the country.
Anjum Anand
Anjum was born in Kolkata but grew up in London. She has also lived and studied in Geneva, Paris, and Madrid. Her experiences include Café Spice in New York, Park Royal Hotel in New Delhi, and Tommy Tang at Mondrian Hotel in Los Angeles. Her first book, Indian Every Day: Light Healthy Indian Food was published when she was 25. Anjum has also appeared in the BBC Two series Indian Food Made Easy. In mid-2011, she launched the brand The Spice Tailor, which makes Indian sauces. She focuses mainly on healthier versions of the rich Indian cuisine.
