Twitter Account of Rahul Gandhi and party hacked also used for posting abusive tweets

Congress party has claimed that their VP Rahul Gandhi’s Twitter account was hacked and after few hours Congress Party’s official account was also hacked. Although the abusive tweets were removed within 30 minutes and later on Congress Party’s official website inc.in was also found to be hacked.

Rahul Gandhi said that this incident of hacking their official website and tweeter accounts raises a huge question mark on the digital security.

Rahul Gandhi’s tweeter account was found hacked on later Wednesday and within hours abusive tweets were taken down. The party finds it unscrupulous, unethical and roguish and further blamed internet trolls for the act. They also believe that fascist culture was behind the act.

It is still not clear which organization was behind the hacking. The party has filed official complaint at the cyber cell of the Delhi Police over the matter. It is also expected that the matter may reach both houses of parliament in the ongoing winter session as the Congress is in full mood to raise it.

The official tweeter account of congress has 1.38 million followers as on Thursday and Rahul Gandhi’s tweeter account had 1.2 million people on tweeter.

It is also not clear whether it is a political gimmick or really the tweeter accounts were hacked as it will be cleared only after the police find the culprit.
