Two die of thunder storm in high reaches of Himalayan range in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand

Despite the repeated alarms and warnings by the Indian Meteorological departmemt and weather forecasts of various states regarding the most dangerous thunderstorm in the offing from 8th May to 10th May, with schools up to 12th standard closed by the education departments in some states this dreaded havoc has not effected that impactfully and disatrously as was expected till date except in Uttarakhand where ferocious storm and air waves are definitely creating panic. Thank God that it has’nt been so adverse with no toll of human lives and loss to properties, majorly, in any part of the country.

As per the news pouring in, the higher reaches of the Himalayan areas of Uttarakhand are witnessing thunderstorm for the last two days.

In the high altitude snow clad Himalayan ranges of Pithoragarh district in Uttarakhand one villager has died and a porter dissappeared in the snow thunderstorm. In the border area of Nepal’s Bajhang district a person succumbed to the high velocity snow thunderstorm yesterday. He was the junior engineer serving in a government department.

There have been tremendous thunderstorms and snow falling incidents since the last three days resulting in complete blockade in the border areas of Uttarakhand adjoining the China n Nepal border. The forces involved in patrolling in the Mansarovar area are confronting extreme difficulties as the roads have been totally covered with excessive snow thus making movement impossible.

As per the dispatch of Amar Ujala a 40 year old migration village Golfa resident under Bangapani tehsil in the border area Anand Singh son of Chandan Singh alongwith his wife Jamanti Devi and others had gone in the uper reaches of the himalayan ranges under the gram panchayat Zibba to collect KEEDA JADI, a highly expensive herb.

In the meanwhile the ferocious high velocity snow thunder storm arrived and Anand Singh died on the way while being shifted to Golfa for treatment. He died on the way while being taken to the district hospital on the Baagicha Bagad Marg, in the border area of Kumaon, Uttarakhand.
