I was just scrolling the google search to see the status of children dying of malnutrition or hunger and was shocked to find the following beginning brief:
836 million Indians survive on less than Rs. 20 (less than half-a-dollar) a day. Over 20 crore Indians will sleep hungry tonight. 10 million people die every year of chronic hunger and hunger-related diseases.

Only eight percent are the victims of hunger caused by high-profile earthquakes, floods, droughts and wars. However, if we go further ahead and search for statistics of the adivasi population or children, the situation is more horrific. Why to go to the far distant villages of the rural belt of India for finding hunger starved or malnourished children dying or suffering of hunger related issues but anguishingly you can find them loitering in and around the huge dustbins and their shelters either eagerly searching foodstuffs or earning petty amount for themselves and their hapless families living in abject poverty by keenly segregating the rubbish.

There are hundreds, even thousands of children working as ragpickers in and around Delhi devoid of basic health facilities segregating degradable and bio degradable wastes, having a totally bleak future thus remaining completely illeterate and finally dying due to malnutrition as a ragpicker only.

Many of them die on roadsides shivering in acute cold during winters or extreme summer due to heat strokes. Who cares? Now see the topsy tervy development, the news flows in that the nearing super star of Bollywood and son of former Cricket captain late Nawab Pataudi, Saif Ali Khan is gifting his son Taimur a swanky car of whopping Rs 1.3 crore on Children’s day. What a grand gesture from a traditional rich prince turned dynastic actor son of the Nawab/ cricketer father n popular actress mother.

Undoubtedly extraordinarily, lucky are Taimurs’ the excessively pampered new borns. Good luck to him but what about millions of those who leave every thing to their fate? May all live long, healthily and prosperously. AMEN.
