The United States President Donald Trump’s statement of intervening in the Kashmir imbroglio in order to help resolve the seven decades old vexed political crisis between Pakistan and India on Pak president Imran Khan’s request has raised a storm in the political circles of India especially amongst the key opposition party Congress and its allies.
The United States president Trump has expressed his wish to do so when Pakistan cricketer turned premier met US President Donald Trump at White House today requesting him to meddle in the resolution of the protracted Kashmir crisis.
During the interaction while Imran Khan complained  that despite his best effort to  request India to come on the negotiating table India hasn’t responded, the US president on the other hand responded by terming both the countries and its leaders as incredible and appealing that they should come on the negotiating table to resolve the Kashmir crisis at the earliest. He categorically said he will be the happiest person to mediate and help resolve the crisis as asked for.
The US President Donald Trump created storm and furor in Indian political circles when he revealed that the Indian prime minister Narendra Modi has recently during the G- 20 summit requested him to help resolve the Kashmir tangle as also requested by Pak premier Imran Khan.
The senior leaders of the ruling BJP including the foreign minister Jai Shankar however strongly refuted Trump’s statement in the Lok Sabha terming it as a blatant lie.
Even the BJP leader and MP Sonkar Shastri have in one of the TV debates’ accused Trump as a blatant liar who lies several times during the day.
The Indian external affairs spokesperson Raveesh Kumar also denied Trump’s statement unambiguously saying that India will never accept the third party mediation as the Kashmir problem is between India and Pakistan. He also emphatically said that until Pakistan gives up aiding and abetting terrorists and terror sanctuaries on its land and ends killings there is no question of resumption of bilateral peace talks between India and Pakistan.
Meanwhile, the chief spokesman of Congress party Randeep Singh Surjewala has condemned the statement of US President Donald Trump to intervene in Kashmir imbroglio to resolve this long pending crisis. He questioned prime minister Narendra Modi for asking Trump to mediate in the G 20 summit held recently and demanded his detailed clarification on the issue in Lok Sabha.
Surjewala said Kashmir crisis is a two-nation problem between India and Pakistan and no third country would be allowed to meddle in our internal affairs. The Kashmir problem should be resolved under the parameters of the Shimla Agreement and the Lahore declaration.
Meanwhile, according to latest news reports pouring in the American lawmakers have apologized for Trump’s statement on vexed Kashmir issue saying that it’s a two-nation imbroglio to be resolved by both of them with the US having no right to intervene.
