Vohra convenes all party meeting to review security situation in J&K
After the withdrawal of support by the Bhartiya Janata Party last Wednesday , the octogenerian J & K governor N.N. Vohra today convened an all party meeting minus separatists in Kashmir in the evening inviting all the heads of the national and regional parties to discuss the impending law andrder situation arising out of the increasing attack of terrorists on civilians and Army personels.
Prior to this, the governor had convened the meeting of the senior officials of the state police, central and local intelligence officials , officers of security forces and the army to expedite action on the militants and revive as well as activate the state’s intelligence and police network to counter increasing terrorism and avoid bloodshed. The PDP, Congress, BJP, National Conference, Panthers party and other regional party heads are participating in the meeting.
A highly matured and tremendously experienced veteran civil servant N. N. Vohra has got extention it is believed and has now the sole responsibility to take strife torn Kashmir out of the impending mess that led to tremendous bloodshed during the last several years.
About 400 or more civilians and equal number of Pak sponsored terrorists have been killed during the last four years despite the best efforts of the union and state governments to counter this deadly menace.
Even today morning two security personels have been injured and four terrorists killed in Anant Nag, Kashmir. The extremely deteriorating law and order situation, incessant lynching of the Armymen and journalists including civilians by the Pakistan sponsored terror outfits and stone pelting incidents going unabatedly, have compelled the union government to finally snap ties with the PDP which was allegedly considered soft towards the stone pelters as well as the indigenous militants n the Hurriyat conference leaders to manage its vote bank but causing an irreperable damage to J&K, Indian Army and the nation.
This led to the resignation of the incumbent chief minister Mehbooba Mufti and the assembly put under suspended animation. The state of Kashmir had been under the president’s rule earlier as well and number of interlocutors were also dispatched to this strife torn state like sr journalist Dilip Padgaonkar etc but the situation is still to square one with no solution in sight till date.
Its highly disheartening and worrisome to note that since1992 till date about 65000 people had died during the J& K imbroglio out of which 50% are terrorists and about 10 thousand army, local police and security personels and the rest are the civilians.
