While shelling continue in border areas from Pak side 5 CRPF n army jawans martyred in Babagund at Kupwara in Kashmir
While there is jubilation all over the country over the home coming of Indian Air Force pilot of MIG 16 Wing commander Abhinandan that shot down the Pakistan’s F16 two days ago after being in the captivity of neighbouring Pakistan for sixty hours, in Kupwara Sector of Kashmir five valiant Jawans including an officer were martyred in a terrorist encounter in the cross fire today that lasted for several hours. A civilian was also killed in this operation.
According to the news pouring in from various mediums the CRPF jawans had cordoned off the area near Babagund area in Kupwara sector today n were busy combing area when they came to know about the two terrorists holed up in a house.
The security forces opened incessant fire on terrorists who too were retaliating with gun shots. During the exchange of fire there was a lull in between but the firing started against by terrorists indiscrimately. When the brave hearts reached near the house amid intermittent firing five of the CRFF jawans were hit by the terrorists’ bullets killing two of them in the operation that continued for several hours.
The firing stopped in between several times when the CRPF jawans cladestinely managed to reach towards the house in which these terrorists were hiding/ holed up. But hard lucked five jawans including an officer of CRPF were hit by the terrorists bullets during the exchange of gun fire.
The home grown terrorism in Kashmir has enhanced tremendously and every second or third day there is attack on the security forces. While the Army para military is leaving no stone unturned to get Kashmir valley rid of these hard core terrorists their number is increasing day by day.
If we go by the government figures roughly about 300 terrorists have bern wiped out during the last several months but the army casualty too is a matter of grave concern. While the CRPF has lost 40 personels in the recent Pulwama attack. Just few days after we’ve lost five jawans n Major Vibhuti Dhaundiyal with four jawans that included an officer too just today in Kupwara. In addition the nation lost wing commander Sidharth Negi two weeks ago when the Mirage 2000 during a test flight in Bengaluru got crashed followed by an M17 fighter chopper crash due to a technical snag killing 5 others including a squadron leader Sidharth Vashisht.
Meanwhile the shelling and gun firing is incessantly on from the Pakistan sides in the border villages of Kashmir creating damage to the houses breaching cease fire. The India Army is retaliating strongly but there have been damages to some houses resulting in the village residents leading a life in panic.
