Yoga: easy poses you should do every morning
Morning Yoga is a very calm and peaceful way to start your day. If you are not into going to the gyms, yoga is your savior. And if you’re lazy like I am, yoga is a good way to start your fitness journey
Yoga helps to increase flexibility and muscle strength. It improves your respiration and energy. Another advantage of yoga is that it helps to tone your muscles and improve athletic performance. It also helps in reducing weight and improve metabolism. There are many more subtle benefits to yoga!
Yoga can be done without any equipment and you can do it anytime anywhere. So let’s begin, shall we?
Easy Seated Twist: Starting with the easiest — seated twists. It is also known as Bharadvajasana. It helps to open up your spine and back. This pose helps to improve digestion and relieve back pain as well. It also helps to relax your shoulders and chest.
Child’s pose: The child’s pose is another easy pose for you to do. It is very calming on the body. It slows our minds and helps to open the hips. Bal-asana helps you breathe deeper and easier as well.
Cat-Cow Pose: These are two poses in one. In order to do this pose, you will need to get into a tabletop position, that is, get down on all fours and keep your back parallel to the ground. Inhale and dip your belly for the cow, exhale and arch your spine upwards for the cat. It is that easy. Do it for 5 inhales/exhales.
SunBird pose: This pose helps to wake up your core, arms, and legs. Continuous practice of this pose helps to strengthen the core and glutes as well. You can start this from the tabletop pose. Extend your right arm and left leg outward while maintaining balance. Hold for three deep breathes and repeat for the other side.
Planks: Planks are very popular with everyone and for good reason. Planks help with core muscle building and strengthening. It isn’t as easy as it looks but it is very beneficial in the long run. All you have to do for this is keep the palms faced down, get into a straight pose like a plank and tuck in your tailbone and abdomen. You will have to try to keep your posture straight but not too rigid. Do this for three-four deep breaths. Start for short time periods then increase the time as you advance.
Down Dog Pose: this pose is a good way to relax towards the end of your session. It helps to strengthen your shoulders and stretch your hamstrings. It will definitely help you relax. Lift the hips up and keep your arms a little wider than shoulder length. You should look like an inverted V, basically. Hold this for three-four breathes or more if you want.
Spinal Twists: Another great pose to real your muscles, spine twists are easy. In addition to relaxing your body, it helps to improve your metabolism. It also exercises the spine and stretches your arms and thigh muscles. Just lie down straight on your back and bring both knees to your chest. Holding one knee, straighten the other out and bring the knee across your body. Hold this position for 45 seconds at least. repeat with the other knee.
